New York Giants legend Michael Strahan has no shortage of accomplishments to his name. With the single-season NFL sack record, a Pro Football Hall of Fame induction, and a Super Bowl championship on his resume, he’s one of the most accomplished players in league history.
On Friday, the Giants announced Strahan’s newest major accomplishment: enshrinement in the College Football Hall of Fame. Strahan joined 17 players and four coaches – including Urban Meyer and Nick Saban – in the Class of 2025. Several NFL stars shared the honor with him, most notably Alex Mack, Michael Vick, and Haloti Ngata. Strahan played at Texas Southern from 1989-1992 before being drafted by New York in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft.
At Texas Southern, Strahan set the program record for sacks in a career (41.5) and season (19), both of which stand today. He received numerous honors before being selected in the second round, including being named a 1992 first-team All-American and Division I-AA Defensive Player of the Year.
He won the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year twice, as well. Strahan has also racked up accomplishments in his post-playing career, earning a premier role on Fox’s NFL pregame show, hosting Good Morning America and making cameos on various shows and movies.
He’s parlayed an incredible NFL career into full-fledged stardom. Strahan and his inducted counterparts will be inducted on Dec. 9, 2025, in Las Vegas. The New York faithful hope he isn’t the only Giants legend to get that once-in-a-lifetime call in 2025.
