Novak Djokovic Hires New Coach Following Departure from Andy Murray
May 20, 2025 — Novak Djokovic has officially named Dusan Vemic as his new coach, marking a fresh chapter after parting ways with Andy Murray. The change comes just ahead of the Geneva Open and the highly anticipated French Open.
Djokovic and Murray began their coaching partnership in late 2024, a collaboration that saw some strong performances, including a semifinal run at the Australian Open and a finals appearance in Miami. However, the pair failed to secure any titles, leading to a mutual decision to end the partnership. “We realized we had reached our limit together on court,” Djokovic explained.
Dusan Vemic, a familiar face in Djokovic’s camp from earlier in his career (2011–2013), returns with deep coaching experience. He has worked with top players including the Bryan brothers and Andrea Petkovic and is currently the Serbian Billie Jean King Cup team captain.
Also joining the team is Boris Bosnjakovic, who will support Djokovic as an analyst and assistant coach. Together, they aim to guide the 24-time Grand Slam champion toward his 100th career title as he turns 38 this week.
Djokovic’s next challenge will be against Marton Fucsovics at the Geneva Open, followed by his bid for another title at Roland Garros. With a new team behind him, Djokovic is reenergized and focused on reclaiming his dominance on the court.
