Explaining his decision, Deegan made it clear that the change wasn’t due to any personal issues with Craig. “I tried something and, no hate to anybody, I just didn’t feel like it fit me as good,” he said. He emphasized his respect for Craig and his ongoing role in the Star Racing Yamaha program, where Craig continues to contribute to the development of all the team’s riders. “Craig is still part of the program and still helping everyone,” Deegan explained. However, for his own growth and preparation, Deegan felt that rejoining Swanepoel’s group offered the competitive edge he was looking for. “I just had to get back in that Swanny group and train with those guys… That’s really the only reason,” he added.
As Deegan continues his pursuit of the 250SX West Region title, his combination of talent, adaptability, and strategic thinking makes him a formidable contender.
